Principal’s Message:

Congratulations,to all of our student-athletes on an amazing season, and good luck to those still competing and participating in playoffs!

Beach Volleyball-The girls' beach team just completed a very successful season.  The girls team finished with an overall record of 18-4 and a second-place finish in the Coastal League with a record of 12-2. Just recently, they finished their playoff season by beating Patrick Henry and Westview, before losing in the D1 championship to San Marcos 2-3.  Senior Maddie Packard was recognized with the sportsmanship award.

Boys Volleyball-The boys team also just completed their season.  They finished the regular season with an 18-16 record.  The highlight of their season was a team trip to Hawaii where they finished the tournament 3-2, beating some very good teams from Hawaii.  They were once again in the open division playoffs with a 7th seed. Unfortunately, they last their first two games and did not advance to the state playoffs. They were led by many seniors who will now go on to play at the college level.

Boys Tennis-Tennis just completed a very successful season.  They won the league championship, beating LCC for the league title.  They were then seeded number 4 in the D1 playoffs and won two exciting playoff matches before losing to Cathedral Catholic, the eventual D1 Champs.  The team was led by senior twin singles players Max and Colt Mattingley, along with the #1 doubles team of Jackson Brueske and Noa Ede.

Boys Golf-The golf team is in the middle of their playoff run.  They recently finished second in league; however, last week they won the North County Conference, upending the league champs, and are now primed for a deep run into CIF, which begins the week of May 18. The team has been led by junior Kaden Chang and Kenyon Kahler as well as senior captain Roy Kane.  Kaden finished first in the conference tournament while Roy finished fourth.

Girls Lacrosse-The team finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-6 and 3-3 in the top league in San Diego.  They were given the #6 seed in the open division playoffs, a first in the history of the program.  Last Thursday, they won their first-ever open division playoff game by upsetting the # 3 seed, San Marcos. Their next game is against league rival LCC on Wednesday, May 13.

Boys Lacrosse-The boys LAX team finished the season strong. For the second time in three years, the team finished in the top 6 in SD county, with an open division seeding of 6.  Unfortunately, they ran into a very hot team in LCC and lost their opening playoff game.  Nonetheless, it was a very successful season, and the team was led by many of its seniors, including Jayden Lynds and Owen Gommel.

Girls and Boys Swim/Dive-Coach Kristi and her staff have done an excellent job this year in spite of the difficult practice schedule and location parameters given to them.  She has been extremely positive and has made the most out of a very difficult situation with the late practice times and all away meets.  The team just completed CIF on Saturday and we have one athlete, Jaxson Lass, a diver who has qualified for the state meet.

Girls and Boys Track and Field-Track and Field just completed their league championships this weekend. Luke Stride finished 4th in the 1600, while Cole Dahlan and Danica Dennison each finished 1st in the 100, while Dahlan also added a 1st in the 200.   Owen Taylor finished 2nd in the hurdle and Jude Dancel finished 3rd in the triple jump and the girls relay placed 4th in the 4 x 100.

Baseball-The baseball team finishes up league play on Tuesday against Del Norte and then will be competing in the D1 playoffs beginning the following week.  League play has been very tough, and the Lancers are sitting at 6-8, but the bats are starting to come around, and there is a lot of hope heading into the playoffs.  Leading the team in batting avg. and slugging percentage is first baseman Trent Kellas.

Softball-The softball team is currently 16-4 and 3-3 in league and the top-seeded team in D2.  They have two more games in league play this week and are in the hunt for a league championship.  Leading the team this year is senior Gabby Nevarez who leads the Lancers in almost every batting category, as well as junior pitcher Sofia Tillis and Junior catcher Chloe Hernandez.
