Literacy Vision Statement

Our students will be reflective, self-directed, literate individuals who are prepared to think critically across disciplines, construct evidence-based claims, transfer learning to a variety of situations, and communicate effectively as engaged global citizens in a changing world.

Honors/AP Placement Criteria

  • A or B in the second semester of previous honors/AP English class.
    • 1H is a prerequisite for 2H. 
    • 2H is a prerequisite for 3AP. 
    • 3AP is a prerequisite for 4AP.
  • At or above the cut level (e.g., Green) in the Winter STAR Renaissance Reading assessment.
  • Signed waiver available through the Counseling Department
